FALL/WINTER
2020

For Autumn/Winter 2020/2021, Pierre Cardin is focusing on modernity and comfort, aimed at the mobile generation. The Voyage, Futureflex, Denim Academy and Le Bleu themed segments, which were successfully introduced in previous seasons, have been further expanded. The Futureflex theme in particular is continuing its unprecedented success story, and has been expanded across all product groups this season after a very positive start in the ready-to-wear segment. High performance outer fabrics and uniform labelling ensure a coherent overall picture. In addition, the focus is also on the Voyage Smart Travel range: the modern, contemporary styles are crease-resistant, washable and breathable, and therefore ideal for travelling. They perform exceptionally well across the seasons. Together with the other mainstays of Denim Academy (contemporary casual) and Le Bleu (premium lifestyle), they form a strong and coherent overall picture of the Pierre Cardin brand.

SUSTAINABILITY

Pierre Cardin
FALL/WINTER 2020

The protection of resources and employees is fundamental to us, and responsible sourcing alsogoes without saying. The issue is underlined by the use of individual product labels such as“Waterless Jeans”, “Recycled Polyester” or “Recycled Down and Feather”. This means that thecustomer isn’t given a blanket statement, but instead direct information on the respectiveproduct. Plus, all trousers are washed sustainably, and the new Eco-Flex fabric has resulted in acompletely sustainably produced pair of jeans being included in the range. In terms ofknitwear/jersey, Pierre Cardin is completely turning away from cashmere, and instead usingorganic cotton and mulesing-free merino wool. 100% recycled outer fabric features in thesportswear too.Further information on sustainability can be found in the Ahlers AG Sustainability Report.

Lightness and comfort are the central sportswear themes for the coming winter. They’re translated through reinterpreted quilted jackets, e.g. a reversible quilted jacket or a double weaveor a lightweight down with new double-glue effects. Futureflex continues to be the focus of the collection – pieces such as blouson jackets, parkas and coats impress with stretch outer fabrics and constructions with elastic inserts. In terms of coats and wool jackets, the classic pieces are supplemented with new models and silhouettes. KNITWEAR / JERSEY

Pierre Cardin
FALL/WINTER 2020

This winter season, the stretch FUTUREFLEX fabrics range from quilted jackets in functional stretch jersey to a bi-stretch twill jacket: this comfortable jersey outerwear is technical, cool, urban and dynamic. Even the features are versatile: there are surprising material bondings alongside casual stretch must-haves in jersey and knit. The functional Voyage styles include ready-to-wear jersey, as well as boiled wool knits, featuring in sports jackets and other jackets, for an uncomplicated, yet luxurious, travel style. Soft, minimal textures and patterns feature highly with a tech merino knit in a textured mix with nylon details that is urban and contemporary. For the DENIM ACADEMY, masculine textures with a cosy feel dominate in sweatshirt fabric and knit innovations (garment-dyed chenille). In general, the product images, accessories and workmanship for this range are more casual in appearance. By way of contrast, the range includes shades and stripe details, in addition to textured knits and colour blocking. Le Bleu also meets the highest demands in this part of the collection: mercerised Supima promises exclusive luxury. Fine macro-jacquard polo shirts with a silky finish subtly emphasise Pierre Cardin’s high-quality standards.

READY-TO-WEAR

Pierre Cardin
FALL/WINTER 2020

The focus of the ready-to-wear range is clearly on “formal crossover”: hybrid blazers and free suits shape the picture and impress with a successful combination of formality, functionality and comfort. Stretch is now also a standard feature in ready-to-wear. Wool looks are enhanced and reinterpreted via digital prints on blazers and casual suits. The notion of comfort is supported by the increased use of jersey. The key piece in the high-stretch Futureflex segment is the new “Genius Suit” – it combines zeitgeist and functionality in a progressive and unexpected way. Highlight: Voyage showcases a T-Blazer with RFID safe pockets.
